In the quaint town of Camas, the Shira family seemed to have it all—wealth, success, and two sons, Caleb and Connor "Conman" Shira. However, the Shira household held a secret dynamic that only those close enough could sense.
Connor AKA "Not Caleb", the older of the two, had always lived in the shadow of his younger brother, Caleb. Caleb effortlessly garnered attention, his charm and talents making him the family's golden child. The Shira parents couldn't hide their favoritism, lavishing Caleb with the best of everything, leaving Conman in a perpetual state of understated resentment.
As time went on, it became apparent that even Conmans girlfriend, who was way outside of his league, was captivated by Caleb's charisma. The "brotherly bounce" loomed over Conman, a term whispered in hushed tones among those privy to the family's dynamics.
Despite being the older, Conman found himself eclipsed by Caleb's achievements, his brother's allure affecting every aspect of his life. Even though she wouldn't officially admit it Conman's girlfriend, couldn't resist the allure of Caleb's impending 18th birthday.
Conman grappled with a sense of helplessness, caught in a narrative that seemed to have been written before he was even born. As he observed his parents' obvious favoritism and his girlfriend's wandering affections, Conman felt a deep-seated need to break free from the suffocating expectations.
One day, as the tension in the Shira household reached its peak, Connor made a life-altering decision. Rather than succumbing to the inevitability of the brotherly bounce, he decided to join his fathers's golf league, expressing his desire for independence and recognition.
To his surprise, Easy finally acknowledged the toll his favoritism had taken on Conman. The revelation shook the foundation of their family dynamic. It was a turning point that allowed Conman to redefine his identity outside the confines of comparison.
As for the league, we are still waiting for the glorious day that Caleb supercedes "Not Caleb", joins the league and beats Conman into oblivion, as long as Conman's girlfriend doesn't do it first by changing her title to Caleb's girlfriend.
